The Sacramento Region Blueprint Project was designed to create a set of viable scenarios for healthy regional growth. Because this issue is important to all of us, the alternatives were generated via a series of dozens of high-tech, interactive planning workshops held throughout the six-county Sacramento Region.

A series of workshops at three scales allowed local residents to envision how they would like to see their communities–and their region–grow in the future. Building on the results of the TALL Order Forum, staff and local planners are briefing City Councils and County Board of Supervisors and developed a Draft Preferred Scenario. The SACOG Board of Directors released the draft alternative for public review on July 15, 2004. After additional public involvement the Discussion Draft was the subject of the first ever Elected Officials Summit in October 2004. The SACOG Board of Directors approved the Preferred Blueprint Alternative in December 2004.
